Opportunities of communication with speech dialogue systems are increasing for people, because communication robots are becoming popular. Smooth spoken interaction has been expected in machine-to-human communication. Both verbal and non-verbal information is conveyed to send their messages each other in human-to-human communication. In fields of psychology, it is known that ways of speaking have psychological impacts on people in the communication. However, it is still uncertain that all methods of human-to-human communication could apply to machine-to-human communication. In this paper, we investigated psychological effects from responses of speech dialogue systems to users. Especially, we examined the psychological effects from speech rate in the systems in this study. |
