We have proposed the estimation method of liquid properties of density and viscosity using a shear horizontal surface acoustic wave sensor. The method is effective, when the bulk modulus of a liquid is close to it of water. If the bulk modulus of a liquid is different from it of water, the estimated results do not agree with literature values. In this paper, density, viscosity, and bulk modulus was the unknown parameters and the method to estimate three properties at the same time was proposed. The literature and the estimated values for glycerol or ethanol aqueous solutions were compared. For the numerical simulation, the literature and the estimated values agree well. However, the results estimated using the measured values were significantly different from the literature values. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to measure accurate concentration of the sample liquids with other method. Also, it is necessary to select optimum reference liquid. |
