Matrix Driving Method for Multichannel Loudspeaker using Multiplication-output and Delta-sigma Modulator with Multiple inputs

(in English) A sound wave is a physical phenomenon in which three-dimensional vibrations are propagated, in principle. It is known that in order to exactly reproduce the wave front of sound based on the Huygens principle, it is necessary to set a control point such as a speaker for each half wavelength of the target frequency band. However, constructing such a large-scale system with the method of individually wiring each element as is currently done is difficult, and a method that can control many points with a simpler structure is desired. We have been studying the individual driving method of multichannel speakers having common wiring lines. This method drives the multiplication output speakers by using the ΔΣ modulator with multiple inputs. In this paper, we report on the higher order multiple-input type modulator and the experimental results of the prototype speaker.
