Research of Automatic Degraded Video Restoration by Motion Analysis -- A Study on Detection Method for Weak-Structured Splice Lines --

(in English) In recent years, image quality improvement of images such as the appearance of 4K television is progressing. Especially, splice is not automated for restoration, and it requires a lot of labor and time to restore. Therefore, we conducted research on this splice in this research. We proposed a splice detection method using Hough transformation for a splice with a linear structure in the presentation of this workshop in February 2017. However, in this paper, we focus on splices that do not have a linear structure and a new detection method is proposed. Concretely, a histogram of white pixels in one frame is acquired. After that, it detects the weak structure splice by taking the difference between the frames. Experimental results using degraded drama movies have shown effectiveness of the proposed method.
