ZnS:Cu dispersive type EL devices prepared by liquid phase reaction method

(in English) The synthesis of ZnS:Cu nanophosphor and the proper thermal treatment has been investigated to improve luminescent characteristics of dispersive type electroluminescent devices, since both high concentration of Cu activation and high density of CuxS formation are important. It has been found that step thermal treatment, i.e., the firing at 1000℃ and the after-annealing at 750℃ is the proper thermal treatment. A currently obtained EL luminance is still very low and is about 1.3 cd/m2 at 233 V and at 1 kHz. It concludes that both enough large ZnS:Cu particles and high crystallinity are necessary to obtain high EL characteristics.
