Performance evaluation of PC5-based C-V2X considering inter-terminal interference in Crash Warning Application

(in English) In PC5-based C-V2X (Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything) used in the Crash Warning Application (CWA), narrow range communication by D2D is expected to increase the wireless channel capacity by multiple nodes simultaneously transmitting their information. However, in exchange for the increment of capacity, radio interference occurs and reduce quality of services (QoS) such as delay and number of received frames, less than 100msec and more than 10 frames per second, respectively. CWA requires a specific QoS. In this research, we evaluate such QoS considering D2D interference as similar with cell edge interference. Evaluations show that delay is improved from 41.7msec to 25.6msec and the number of received frames is fewer, i.e. by 13.5% worse when the number of multiple transmit terminal increases from 7 to 12. Then, in order to meet the QoS requirements, up to 400 vehicles or pedestrians can be accommodated.
