The satellite broadcasting of Ultra high definition television is scheduled to start in December 2018, and it is expected that the capacity of video signals and the number of channels will be increasing. Cable television operators are advancing FTTH transmission lines in order to transmit large-capacity video signals at low cost. In addition, they are considering the introduction of IP broadcasting because of sharing infrastructure with TV broadcasting service and Internet communication service. We have been studying 4K・8K multi-channel IP broadcasting on the FTTH network, but it is the matter of in-building transmission system which do not laid optical fiber to the inside of the house. Therefore, we applied the DOCSIS transceiver used for Internet communication over coaxial cable network from cable television station to subscriber to in-building transmission system for IP broadcasting utilizing existing in-building coaxial cable, and we studied 4K・8K multi-channel IP multicast distribution over in-building coaxial cable network. Moreover, we have a problem of not being able to deliver efficiently by merely using DOCSIS standard, so we propose a transmission efficiency improvement method. |
