Over 100-Gbit/s transmission by using directly modulated laser (DML) is a promising candidate to fulfill recent market demands such as higher transmission capacity, lower power dissipation, lower cost, etc.. We developed integrated TOSA equipped with DMLs, optical multiplexer (OMUX), newly designed high-gain 4-ch linear driver for 200G, and then successfully realized the world’s first over 200-Gbit/s, over 20-km transmission in the form of integrated TOSA. In this paper, we report the design and characteristics of the linear driver and TOSA. |
