Numerical Examination on Electromagnetic Wave in Multilayered Structure as Human Head Model

(in English) Human tissues are damaged because of the radiation when using mobile phone. The specific absorption rate (SAR) is widely used to determine the possibility of radiation in human head because of radio frequency radiation. A mobile phone’s SAR rating is used to estimate the maximum rate of RF energy absorption by a user’s head when using the device. In this report, a simple multi-layer human head model is used to calculate the specific absorption rate at frequencies 1.8 GHz and 3.35 GHz. As the numerical method, the FDTD method is used and MATLAB software is for calculation results. This research approaches to the one dimensional electromagnetic radiation effect on human head due to the use of mobile phone at the normal incident plane wave.
