A muscle synergy theory-based analysis of pseudo ski turn movement with an indoor practice machine
Jumpei Tsuchida, Toyohiko Hayashi (Niigata Univ.) MBE2018-12
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Muscle synergy is a set of coordinated activity patterns of muscles, which can be estimated from their EMG activities. Recently, muscle synergy-based motion analysis is becoming popular. Although such analysis is already applied to ski turn movement, its analysis method has yet to be established, due to relatively low reproducibility of the movement. Then reconsidering conventional muscle synergy-based analysis of ski turn movement, we proposed a method of obtaining representative muscle synergy of a subject. Experiments using an indoor ski-turn practice machine with a relatively high reproducibility revealed that five muscle synergy patterns with different motion phases can be estimated and tended to coincide with actual muscle functions.
