UAV-enabled Opportunistic Relaying Schemes Based on Non-orthogonal Multiple Access in Correlated Rician Fading Channels
Young-bin Kim, Kosuke Yamazaki (KDDI Research) SAT2018-51
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we consider the scenario where there are unconnected mobile stations (MSs) from a base station owing to unexpected blockage from obstacles or disasters. The unconnected MSs can be supported by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which forward their desired signals using opportunistic two-hop relaying schemes based on relay station (RS) selection in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems. The randomly deployed UAVs in a restrictive zone with correlated Rician fading channels for each link are considered. NOMA signals are forwarded by the two opportunistic relaying schemes: the NOMA-based UAV-assisted opportunistic two-hop relaying scheme and the spectrally efficient successive relaying scheme. We evaluate the outage probability of the introduced schemes according to channel correlation, density of deployed UAVs, and the number of UAVs, to name a few, and show their numerical results.
