(in English) In order to overcome the limitation of the wavelength division multiplexing techniques on optical fiber communications, single sideband (SSB) modulation is a candidate to realize the twice frequency efficiency of any double sideband modulation. SSB modulation requires a frequency band with flat transmission to keep one sideband, and also requires steep roll-off characteristics at the rejection band to suppress another sideband. Recently, optical spatial filters are commercially available composed by an optical grating and reflection mirror to be capable of tuning both transmission bandwidth and center frequency. Its transmittance might be flat at the transmission band. In this paper, we report our experimental results about the optical BPSK/QPSK signal quality of EVM value, and also reports observation results of the optical field trajectories with time when a sideband is suppressed by an optical spatial filter.
