Fabrication for Y-branched multimode polymer optical waveguides using the Mosquito Method

(in English) Y-branched polymer optical waveguides for a multiplexing device in WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) multimode optical fiber links are fabricated using the Mosquito method. It has been supposed that core crossing structures on the same plane would be difficult to fabricate using the Mosquito method. Hence, the main focus is on the design and fabrication procedure of Y-branched waveguides. In addition, graded refractive index profiles are formed due to the mutual diffusion of core and cladding monomers before they are UV cured, so the compatibility of the monomers is also focused, and the results are applied to the fabrication for the Y-branched waveguides.
