Design of H-plane Sidelobe Suppression using a Slit Layer in a Corporate-feed Waveguide Slot Array Antenna consisting of 2x2-element Radiating Units

(in English) We have suppressed H-plane sidelobe level in the tilted directions around 30-40 degrees in Taylor radiation pattern by introducing a slit layer in the corporate-feed waveguide slot array antenna consisting of 2×2-element radiating units. We assume the foam dielectric which can be arbitrary relative permittivity between the radiating slot array and the slit layer. We confirm that the sidelobe level can be suppressed by the appropriate relative permittivity, the height of the foam dielectric and the width of the slit. We replace the designed foam dielectric with a PTFE substrate and an air layer by their appropriate heights. The sidelobe level in the tilted directions around 30-40 degrees are suppressed to 33.0 dB from 23.7 dB at the design frequency.
