Millimeter-wave communication will be utilized in 5G. Millimeter-wave communications can provide higher throughput compared to the lower frequency bands, such as 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. However, the millimeter-wave is extremely sensitive to the existence of obstacles and gets decreased when the human body blocks the propagation path. In this paper, we simulate an indoor propagation loss of 28 GHz and 5G throughputs by considering the effect of blockages by human-bodies. Furthermore, to improve TCP throughput, we adopt state-of-the-art TCP-FSO as a TCP and validate the TCP-FSO performance in 5G by using a network emulator. |
