Terahertz Pulse Wave Generation with Photoelectric Conversion

(in English) We have studied the use of pulse waves with a high-repetition frequency in the terahertz region that can achieve the same data rate as the carrier frequency at a wireless communication. As a pulse generation method, we investigated a system that photoelectrically converts high-repetition optical pulse train using a photodiode (UTC-PD). This time, the generation of terahertz pulsed wave at 100GHz was confirmed by the terahertz interferometer constructed in free space. And also we confirmed the availability of the compensation of UTC-PD’s frequency response by controlling the optical spectrums of input optical pulse.
