A 4-cell per Pixel Structure Image Sensor with Gradient-Based Motion Estimation Function

(in English) We propose an imaging method that can calculate the motion vectors on the image sensor and an image sensor with 4-cell per pixel structure. Pixels consisting of 2×2 unit cells for motion estimation are periodically placed on the focal plane. By using the voltage of the photodiode in charge accumulation process of 2×2 unit cells for gradient-based motion estimation, the motion vectors are calculated during integration of one frame. We designed and fabricated an image sensor to realize the proposed imaging method.
