High-power terahertz pulses can be generated via second-order nonlinear optical effect (optical rectification) using organic nonlinear crystals as DAST or OH1. Due to uniaxiality of the organic nonlinear crystals, electric field direction of the terahertz pulses generated by organic nonlinear crystals is limited to one direction. In this research, polarization-controlled terahertz pulse generation is proposed using combination of organic nonlinear crystals whose optical axes are differently directed. High power terahertz pulse generation using DAST crystal and field calculation of terahertz pulse generated by the combination of two crystals are reported. |
