[Poster Presentation] Transmission line design to shorten the line length

(in English) In the millimeter wave CMOS circuit, the slow wave transmission line has a short transmission line length per unit phase change and has helped to reduce the chip area. In this research, we propose a method to further shorten the slow wave transmission line which is already short transmission line length, and demonstrate its usefulness by simulation. It is confirmed by simulation that the phase constant increases by decreasing the distance between the signal line and the slotted ground shield which is a characteristic of the slow wave transmission line. In this case, the characteristic of the slow wave transmission line is about 0.4 times the transmission line length per unit phase change while the attenuation per unit phase change is equivalent to that of the coplanar transmission line, and the area reduction ratio of 60% can be achieved.
