Relay Selection Method in XOR Physical Layer Network Coding

(in English) Recently, high-speed wireless communications are demanded because traffic loaded on wireless network has grown high since launch of smartphones, tablet devices and so on. Frequency band allocated for such wireless communications tend to be higher. As a result, communication distance becomes shorter due to severe attenuation of signals in wireless type. XOR(eXclusive OR)-physical layer network coding(PLNC), it is known to double frequency utilization efficiency in bidirectional wireless relaying systems can solve this problem. Till now, there are many reseaches considering precoding to reduce the complexity of the relay. However, there are not many reseaches considering about relay which is used wireless communications. In this paper, I propose relay selection method for XOR-PLNC to improve the BER perfomance in MIMO bidirectional relaying systems. Computer simulation are performed to evaluate BER perfomance over E b /N 0 v.s. XOR-PLNC. This paper compare proposed methods and not select relay method. As a result, proposed method achieves better perfomance than not select relay method. Additionally, this paper compare conventional precoding method’s BER performance when relays are selected, and reveal that proposed methods achieves better perfomance than not select relay method in conventioanl precoding methods.
