Design of distribution ratio on a multi-stage parallel production line based on an optimal velocity traffic model

(in English) Recently, there is a need to implement production systems which can adapt to changing demand. This report proposes a multi-stage parallel production line model, which is an extension of the previous model [Konishi, Eur. J. Oper. Res, 2010] based on an optimal velocity traffic model. In addition, the design procedure of the distri- bution ratio between two parallel processes is provided. The frequency domain analysis and H-infinity norm are used to design the distribution ratio. The production line with the designed ratio well can produce products efficiently without causing congestion and empty of products. The design procedure is verified by numerical examples.
