[Poster Presentation] Acoustic numerical simulation considering non-linearity for analysis of effects of air gun on marine mammals

(in English) The air gun used for seabed resource exploration is the sound source of high-pressure and low-frequency. Therefore, high-pressure and low-frequency sound wave will propagate through the ocean and adversely affect marine mammals. It is known that the high-pressure sound wave due to the nonlinear propagation phenomenon, and harmonics are generated in addition to the fundamental wave. In this paper, sound propagation analysis is performed using the nonlinear WE-FDTD method, and the analysis result is compared with the linear WE-FDTD method. Next, the sound pressure of the sound source in the nonlinear WE-FDTD method was changed. As a result, it was confirmed that harmonics are generated the air gun even with a high-pressure and low-frequency sound source.
