The electrical signal (action potential) from the sinoatrial node is transmitted to cardiomyocytes in the atrium and ventricle, creating a heartbeat.
The action potential is crucial to maintain our life activity.
Because it is difficult to investigate the generation mechanism of the action potential using only a physiological experiment, we use the Hodgkin--Huxley-type mathematical model~¥cite{HH} to describe the action potential of cardiomyocytes.
Recently, physiological experiments have been developed and many models including ion concentrations as variables have been proposed, however, some problems of such models are reported¥cite{varghese,thomas}.
The purpose of this study is to study on the treatment of concentration variables using a human atrial cell model.
In this paper, fixing the concentration variables as constants and treating them as bifurcation parameters, we perform bifurcation analysis.
Thus, we analyze the effects of the concentration variables on the action potential. |
