Underactuated control of coupled oscillator systems using deep reinforcement learning

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Among a wide variety of rhythmic phenomena, systems in which a plurality of rhythm elements interact are called coupled oscillator systems. Their analysis can be simplified by introducing phase oscillators via phase reduction. Underactuated control in which high-dimensional coupled oscillator systems are controlled by low-dimensional input has been attempted in the framework of phase reduction. In this study, we propose a method for designing the underactuated external input for the coupled phase oscillator systems to achieve desired degree of synchrony using deep reinforcement learning.
