Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper proposes a novel MAC method, Semi-synchronous Multiple Transmission Control / Collision Inference (SMTC/CI), which improves throughput while maintaining throughput-fairness among stations with utilizing frame capture effect by synchronization of transmission opportunities between wireless LANs on autonomous distributed control. The radio interference could disturb high-quality communications with fairness, because of the spreading of mobile wireless LANs such as mobile router and tethering nodes. Hence, we need an innovative MAC considering interference between wireless LANs. Frame capture effect is the key factor in order to improve quality of communications in dense wireless LANs. While implementing CSMA/CA based scheme, the proposed idea, SMTC/CI consults history of frame transmissions in order to infer the effective collisions due to frame capture effect, then maintain superior synchronous transmissions, or dispose no-use synchronization. As a result of our simulation, throughput is improved up to 103% compared with conventional MAC.
