This paper presents an realistic and multilateral evaluation of ICN metadata management method, which reduces the cost of metadata management of enormous Live Data (the data which is continuously generated typically by IoT devices and/or has a short lifetime) with considering the high locality for the usage of its data, by modifying its simulation model. Based on the expectation that the metadata of both of the camera images used in the video surveillance system and the SNS contents, which are considered to have high usefulness for sharing by many users/services, they will be dominant of IoT system in metadata. Supposed that the mode, the median and the expected value of the surveillance camera’s locality (defined as the average distance between the data generation point and the data search point) are 50m, 200m and 400m, respectively. As a result of evaluation with our modified model, the proposed method can reduce DB update cost by 99.0% compared with the conventional method while the search increase is kept to 27.8% (since the number of searches is overwhelmingly smaller than the number of DB updates, it is extremely small compared with the DB update cost reduction effect from the viewpoint of the number of times). |
