As the optical network becomes open, it becomes an operational problem that maintenance and troubleshooting of network infrastructure becomes complicated. Particularly in multi-vendor operation environments, it is very difficult to isolate the cause when a fault occurs, such as different alarm issuing conditions of each vendor device. In this paper, we focus on the breakpoints between vendor-independent lines and each device and propose a real-time line monitoring system dedicated to line fault detection that could not be realized with conventional OTDR(Optical Time Domain Reflectometer). |
