[Invited Lecture] Physical layer technical issues on 5G mobile wireless communications in high speed train environment

(in English) Ever growing service demands and diversified service requirements in 5G have been extended to high speed mobility environments e.g., car, train, and airplane. In particular, the high speed train (HST) is considered as one of the essential verticals in 5G group mobility applications, and the relevant specifications have been included and underway in both ITU-R and 3GPP. So far, most of the studies in the HST have been addressed in the light of control & signaling and management. In the meantime, in the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) the 5G specifications naming NR have been studied since 2017, and its first specifications have firstly been approved in June last year of 2018. However, the current NR specifications has yet to fully investigate the required technologies to satisfy Quality of Service (QoS) for the services like infotainments in the HST environment; services like high definition (HD) video streaming or high-speed Internet access services. In this talk, the brief introduction of the 5G group mobility applications will be given, and we are going to deliver the Link-level performance results of NR and also provide the enhancements of physical layer aspects of NR system in order to improve the quality of high data rate services in the HST scenario in terms of the design of demodulation reference signal pattern, resource element mapping, and numerology.
