Study on Miniaturization of Bowtie Antenna with Folded Structure for Ground Penetrating Radar

(in English) The antenna of GPR(Ground Penetrating Radar) used for the exploration such as buried objects under rubble at the time of disaster is required to have small size and wideband characteristics. A folded bow-tie antenna is one of the small and wideband antennas. In this paper, we propose a small folded bow-tie antenna loaded on a ground plane as an antenna of GPR. The input impedance characteristics of the proposed antenna is adjusted by modifying the shape of feeding part. As a result, it is confirmed that the proposed antenna is matched with 50 Ω and has wideband characteristics. In addition, the miniaturization of the proposed antenna is considered by loading a slit.
