Fallback resource assignment for double link failures in translucent elastic optical network with shared resource protection

(in English) In an elastic optical network using a regenerator (Virtualized Elastic Regenerator: VER) in which a plurality of sub-regenerators are arranged in parallel, a degenerate resource as a method for achieving both the connectivity repair rate and the economics in the event of a double link failure. A shared protection with fallback (SP-FB) with reassignment has been reported. In the reported SP-FB method, a simple minimum resource unit equal reallocation method is adopted, but there is a problem that the remaining network resources are not used effectively. In this research, we propose a bandwidth adaptive resource reassignment method that allocates remaining spare resource according to the normal band of each demand sharing spare resources at the time of double failure. In addition, it is confirmed by simulation that the spare resources utilization rate can be greatly improved while securing almost the same connectivity repair rate as compared with the conventional method, and the results are reported.
