Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Mutual coupling is an electromagnetic phenomenon such as the scattering and re-radiation from antenna array elements, and it often causes undesirable effects to the accuracy of the high-resolution direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation algorithms. Similarly, near-field scatterers such as the supporting structures or fixtures of the antenna also cause the adverse scattering effects. Thus, for design and manufacturing of the antenna arrays, it is important to estimate the location and scattering strength of the near-field scatterers. In this report, we propose a novel radar-based imaging method of the near-field scatterers of the antenna arrays. Numerical simulations are provided to show the validity of the algorithm.
