This study aimed to investigate sleep/wake habits of 319 subjects (174 workers and 145 students) by recording their activities with wrist worn tri-axis accelerometer together with the associated subjective sleep quality by Oguri-Shirakawa-Azumi sleep questionnaire (OSA) for 14 days. Sleep/wake habits were classified into 4 clusters according to sleep timings and chronotype. Statistical analyses suggested that the habit with highly regular sleep timings does not necessarily lead to the best scores for all aspects of subjective sleep quality. Yet, the subjects with highly regular sleep/wake habits tended to recover their sleep quality significantly over the weekend, especially for the aspects of “sleepiness at awakening” and “fatigue recovery”. |
