(in English) PAM4 and 16QAM formats are expected to serve as the main modulation formats for intra-data center and inter-data center networks, respectively. To connect such heterogeneous networks at an optical node seamlessly and effectively without the optical-electrical-optical conversion, an all-optical modulation format conversion technique is required. In this paper, we show the results of performance evaluation of an all-optical PAM4/16QAM modulation format converter using a nonlinear optical loop mirror.
