Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Previously proposed human-body sensor using microwave requires the number of the targets as a prior information. This report proposes and experimentally assesses the detection method of the number of the targets using the MUSIC spectrum. This method assumes the number of bodies more than the expected number of living bodies in the MUSIC method, and, eliminates virtual images from MUSIC spectra that contain the virtual images. The number of people is estimated by counting the peaks. The experiment using 4 × 4 MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) radar is carried out in an indoor environment, and it is found that the proposed method can estimate the number of the targets with accuracy around 86.5% when the number of the actual targets is up to 3.
