Investigation on Distributed Joint Optimization of User Association and Inter-cell Interference Coordination Based on Proportional Fair Criteria

(in English) The small cell deployment is effective to accommodate the increasing mobile traffic. In small cell deployments, it is beneficial to employ user association (UA) and inter-cell interference coordination (ICIC) jointly. We employ the distributed control of the joint optimization of UA and ICIC. In the evaluation, we employ the deployment where the pico base stations (BSs) are overlaid with the macro BSs. The evaluation results show that the distributed control can achieve similar user throughput performance compared to the joint control.
