Reflection Suppression of a Waveguide 2-plane Coupler considering the Two-Dimensional Structural Symmetry

(in English) A waveguide 2-plane coupler combining waveguide H-plane and E-plane couplers functionally into one body has been proposed. We proposed previously the design method for the reflection suppression in the waveguide 1-plane coupler which cancels out the reflections at both the ends of the coupled region. However, the design method for the reflection suppression of the waveguide 2-plane coupler has not been proposed due to the complexity of its coupling conditions. In this paper, we propose the design method to improve the reflection of the waveguide 2-plane coupler. The operating bandwidth of the 2-plane hybrid coupler applied the reflection suppression method is 4.25 %, and its reflection is −31.3 dB at the center frequency and less than −23.0 dB over the bandwidth.
