[Invited Lecture] In Operation Optical Link Bending Diagnosis Using Deep Neural Network and Telemetry

(in English) We propose a novel method of optical link diagnosis using deep neural network with monitoring information obtained from DSP in operation. We implemented this method in a whitebox packet transponder and evaluated optical link bending in the field fiber. In off-line estimation, the accuracy of 97.8% was obtained for bending diameter of 20 mm by combining with laser degradation information. In online estimation, the trained CNN model allowed the network controller to receive accurate bend status message in real time.
