Unlike a handheld device, a smartwatch has accessibility to check the screen and respond quickly. On the other hand, the display area of the screen is small and it is more difficult to operate compared to a smartphone. A better system design can be designed by assigning functions to a handheld and a smartwatch appropriately. In this study, we implemented a transfer search function, departure time alarm function, and countdown function on a smartphone and a smartwatch, taking a countdown type train timetable application as an example, and performed an evaluation experiment with three combinations. A comparrative experimant between a smartphone and a smartwatch shows that the time required for one transfer search is 45% shorter for smartphones and the frequency checking of countdown screen is 87% more for smartwatches. |
