Burst mode operation is performed to improve efficiency and voltage control in the light load region of LLC converter. In this study, burst mode operation by digital controller is possible with a drive circuit using a general-purpose MCU. In order to improve the efficiency during burst mode operation, the power conversion efficiency was measured by changing the operating frequency, resonant capacitor, and leakage inductor. The power conversion efficiency of the converter in the normal mode operation state was 37% at 0.5W load assumed to be in the stand-by state, but improved to 88% in the burst mode operation. |
