To process increasing datacenter traffic cost-effectively, optical circuit switches are needed. By using wavelength routing switches, we can construct an optical circuit switch cost-effectively. However, there is a problem in increasing the switch throughput due to the bandwidth limitation of an optical amplifier and loss increase of the switch. In this paper, we propose a novel optical circuit switch that combines wavelength routing and spatial super-channels. The total throughput of 2.1 Pbps was achieved by densely multiplexing signals in the wavelength and spatial domains. |
