Single-mode Expanded Beam Multi-fiber Connector

(in English) In recent years, the network traffic capacity has been expanded rapidly by video streaming through the Internet. Single-mode fiber (SMF) is widely used in optical wiring to achieve high-speed broadband data transmission. According to connecting SMF, there is a concern about the degradation of communication quality due to dust. To solve it, we have developed lens connector for SMF with dust immunity by expanded beam, and achieved insertion loss of 1.0dB and return loss of 45dB for 24 fibers. This time, we have achieved insertion loss of 0.7dB and return loss of 50dB for 12 fibers. In addition, we have confirmed its extra mating repeatability, maximum insertion loss change is less than 0.1dB without cleaning in 250 times mating.
