Conventionally, since the vibration direction of the welding using ultrasonic wave is linear in one direction, the
damage to the welding object is large and the welding strength is small. Then, we have investigated that the damage to the
welding object is smaller than the case of only the longitudinal vibration and the improvement in the welding strength can be
expected by making the planar vibration direction. In this study, a new complex vibration source using two longitudinal vibration
transducers and a uniform rod with diagonal slits was developed, and its vibration characteristics were examined. As the results,
it was found that the planar vibration could be obtained by simultaneously inputting longitudinal and torsional vibration
resonance to both vibration transducers, though there was asymmetry in impedance characteristics at right and left of the vibration
source. |
