Virtualised Network Function Relocation Suppressing Data Transmission Delay
Koji Sugisono, Shinya Kawano, Akihiro Okada (NTT) NS2019-166
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Transmission latency optimization with relocation of virtualized network functions is crucial for XR services for users moving in a long distance. However, data packets incur additional transmission delay due to various factors during the relocation of the functions, mainly stateful network functions.
This paper proposes a method for relocating stateful virtualized network function that suppresses additional data transmission delay. After describing the system and scheduling for migration of instances of virtualized network function, we evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method with numerical models.
