Power generation efficiency (PCE) of organic photovoltaics (OPV) is known to be improved as the area of the pn junction increases. In this study, we aim to improve PCE by controlling the structure of the pn junction for increasing the junction area. We conduct two types of methods to control the junction structure; by using (1) the difference in surface diffusion of evaporated fullerene molecules or (2) the difference in wettability of TiO2 solution on the patterned SAM-coated surface. In the case of the method (1), selective deposition of fullerene film is done. But the pattern size is proved to be limited with the surface diffusion length of evaporated fullerene molecules. In the case of the method (2), smaller TiO2 pattern than that of the first method is achieved, and the improvement of PCE is confirmed by the sample using the second method. |
