It was experimentally shown that an intense aerial pulsed ultrasonic can be generated by irradiating a pulse laser to a structure consisting of transparent resin and black rubber. A 1-mm-thick PET plate adhered to a 0.1-mm-thick black fluororubber is used as laser target, and a Q-sw pulse laser (a wavelength of 532 nm, a pulse width of 10 ns and a laser energy of 126 mJ/p) was irradiated to a laser target for generating an aerial pulsed ultrasonic. As a result, a maximum sound pressure of about 16.8 kPa (178.5 dB) was obtained at a position of 24 mm away from the laser irradiation surface. |
