We have developed hetero-core optical fiber SPR sensors which is a highly sensitive refractive index sensor with a sharp peak in the reflectance at the resonance wavelength. On the other hand, since the dielectric multilayer film absorbs and transmits only a specific wavelength, a reflection spectrum having a sharp peak like the SPR reflection spectrum can be realized. In this paper, we report characteristics hetero-core optical fiber refractive index sensor by forming SiO2 / Ta2O5 dielectric multilayer films in 2 or 3 layers. The performances of the propose sensor have experimentally evaluated comparing with multilayer calculation results. |
