Research on automatic program repair has been actively conducted in order to reduce debugging costs in software development.
In automatic program repair, there is a step called fault localization that automatically guesses the location of the bug, but it is not always possible to accurately identify the location of the bug.
If the location of the bug cannot be correctly guessed at the fault localization, the accuracy of the automatic program repair will decrease and the repair time will increase.
Therefore, if fault localization is performed in consideration of the intuition of the developer, improvement in correction accuracy and reduction in correction time can be expected.
In this research, we developed an automatic program repair tool that can manually identify the location of the bug, and conducted initial experiments with simple programs and analyzed the results.
In a simple program, if the location of a bug is known, fault localization by the developer can improve the accuracy of repair and shorten the repair time, rather than automatic fault localization. |
