A method for sound source separation using the onset information based on the NMF with deformable bases

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Currently, the NMF with deformable bases has been proposed as a model for learning the sequences of frequency spectrum from the musical audio signals. In the analysis by the NMF with deformable bases, it is necessary to set in advance the number of possible transitions of the basis in order to assume that each spectrum transitions through a limited number of states. However, the only way to determine the optimal number of bases is to repeat prior experiments. In addition, there is a problem in the method of keeping the high analysis accuracy without prior experiment by preparing many bases. In this report, we propose a new method aiming at solving the problem of determining the number of basis of such NMF with deformable bases.
