Development of temperature dependence measurement system for a dielectric film at 50GHz band with the circular empty cavity method

(in English) In millimeter wave circuits, the demand for smaller and thinner circuits has been increasing, and a method for evaluating the frequency dependence and temperature dependence of thin films has been required. In the evaluation of the temperature dependence of a thin film, a slight temperature change in the tank or a change in the amount of water vapor in the tank may affect the measurement result of the temperature dependence. In this study, we developed a 50GHz band dielectric film sample temperature dependence evaluation system that stabilizes the chamber temperature and the amount of water vapor. Using the developed system, the temperature dependence of a PTFE film with a thickness of about 50 m was evaluated and its effectiveness was verified.
