It is known that heart disease could be diagnosed from Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. However, ECG measurement is a contact-type, so the burden on the subject to attach is large. Thus, many method of non-contact heart rate estimation methods using Doppler sensors have been studied. Existing heartbeat detection methods using Doppler sensors have not realized ECG signal detection.
In this paper, Bidirectional Long Short Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) commonly used to train the bidirectional long-term dependence of time series data was applied, on signals acquired from Doppler sensors. As a result, a method was proposed for demodulation the electrical signal of the heart from the heartbeat signal.
In the proposed method, first the received Doppler signal is converted into a spectrogram by Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT).From the spectrogram, the energy integral of the frequency band where the heartbeat signal can be seen is calculated and input to Bi-LSTM. The ECG signal is restored from the signal obtained from the Doppler sensor by learning in the Bi-LSTM using the electrical signal from the heart obtained from the ECG as an output value. In addition, in order to learn signals with strong correlation, input and output values are synchronized and a data set is generated. Experiments showed that the Q, R, S, and T waves of the electrical signal of the heart could be demodulated. Among the ECG signals, the most characteristic R wave with large amplitude is easy to recover. |
